Androgenetic Alopecia Recovery: Jazz’s Hair Loss Story

12 months treatment · Female Pattern Balding

Hair loss specialist — trichology clinic for men and women

Jazz was in her early 30s when she came to us with her hair loss issue. After inspecting Jazz’s hair and scalp, we diagnosed female pattern hair loss with Jazz. While Jazz had a healthy scalp, she was suffering from 30% density hair loss. We treated Jazz with a twice-daily Vitastim (15%) and Biostim (15%) combination, which lasted 12 months.

Jazz’s Hair Loss Issue: Female Pattern Balding

Jazz was in her early 30s when she first noticed her hair beginning to thin across the crown and temples. After a thorough consultation and scalp inspection, Gary Heron diagnosed Jazz with Female Pattern Balding — also known as androgenetic alopecia. Although her scalp was healthy, Jazz was experiencing a 30% reduction in hair density, enough to significantly affect how her hair looked and felt.

Jazz’s Treatment Plan

Gary prescribed a 12-month twice-daily treatment routine using 15% Vitastim and 15% Biostim — a combination designed to stimulate dormant follicles, restore density, and slow any further progression of the pattern thinning. The protocol was simple to follow alongside Jazz’s existing routine.

Jazz’s Outcome

By the end of her 12-month programme, Jazz had regained significant hair density. The thinning that had been visible across the crown had recovered, and her hair felt thicker and healthier overall. Jazz’s case illustrates that Female Pattern Balding in younger women responds very well to early treatment — the key is acting before density loss becomes severe.

"I'd forgotten what thick hair felt like. Gary's treatment gave it back to me — along with my confidence."

— Jazz, Female Pattern Balding client

What is Female Pattern Balding?

Female Pattern Balding (androgenetic alopecia in women) is the most common cause of hair loss in women, characterised by gradual diffuse thinning across the crown and top of the scalp. Unlike male pattern baldness, the hairline is typically preserved. It is driven by a genetic sensitivity to androgens and is often exacerbated by hormonal changes such as menopause. Early specialist diagnosis is essential — the condition is progressive but highly treatable when caught early.
