Alopecia Areata: Diane’s Hair Loss Recovery Story

12 months treatment · Alopecia Areata

Hair loss specialist — trichology clinic for men and women

Diane, a young woman in her mid-20s, came to us experiencing the early stages of alopecia areata. Despite having a healthy scalp, she was beginning to see small patches of thinning, with an estimated 10% density loss. Although not severe, the sudden hair thinning was distressing and raised concerns about potential future hair loss.

Diane’s hair loss issues: Alopecia Areata

Diane, a young woman in her mid-20s, came to us experiencing the early stages of alopecia areata. Despite having a healthy scalp, she was beginning to see small patches of thinning, with an estimated 10% density loss. Although not severe, the sudden hair thinning was distressing and raised concerns about potential future hair loss.

Diane’s hair loss treatment plan

To aid recovery, we recommended a 12-month treatment plan using 15% Vitastim and 15% Biostim, applied twice daily. This combination was designed to counteract the initial signs of alopecia areata, stimulate new growth, and restore Diane’s hair density before the condition progressed further.

Diane’s outcome

By the end of the treatment period, Diane’s hair was fully restored. The thinning patches filled in, and her hair returned to its original density and health. She no longer worries about the risk of further hair loss and feels positive about her hair.

"I was nervous about coming forward because I was young and felt like I shouldn't be losing my hair. Gary put me at ease immediately, explained exactly what was happening and why, and gave me a treatment plan that worked. My hair is fully back and I feel completely normal again."

— Diane, Alopecia Areata client

What is Alopecia Areata?

Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, causing patchy hair loss on the scalp, face, or body. It affects around 2% of the population at some point in their lifetime and can occur at any age, though it often first presents in childhood or early adulthood. Men and women are equally affected. Even when hair is absent, follicles remain alive — meaning regrowth is possible with the right specialist treatment.
